SPONSORSHIP AND PRODUCTION ART PROJECT GRANTS
A total of $37,920 was awarded in April 2002 for Sponsorship and Production project grants. A variety of activities including dance, instrumental and vocal music, theater and visual art exhibitions were funded. Sponsorship and Production project grants may be awarded to non-profit arts organizations, community groups or public organizations for art activities in all artistic disciplines. Matching grants up to $2,000 are available and the next deadline is September 15, 2002.

Mankato Children’s Chorus - $1,800. To sponsor the 2002-2003 youth choral concerts & rehearsal season. MN Agricultural Interpretive Center, Waseca -$1,555. Music groups will perform at four summer festivals. MN Over 60 Band, Gaylord - $1,800. Performances at community events, nursing homes & parades in 2002. MN State University, Art Department, Mankato - $1,800. Will host the Minnesota Community College Fine Arts Association Arts Symposium October 16. MN Valley Sweet Adelines, Mankato - $1,555. Will present their annual show featuring “Northern Lights” Quartet and Region #20 First Place winners on September 14. Musicorum, Mankato - $565. Presented their spring concert in May. Project G.E.M., Lake Crystal - $2,000. The Growth, Experience & Motivation project will provide art and music teachers for in-class education of at-risk youth in a variety of settings in the Mankato and St. Peter area. Rock Bend Folk Festival, St. Peter - $2,000. Two-day arts and music festival held in MN Square Park, September 7-8. Springfield Community Theatre - $1,555. Will produce “Fiddler on the Roof” July 13-14 & 18-19. Waseca Chamber of Commerce - $1,555. Ethnic music, local dancers and hands on projects for youth at Lakefest celebration at Clear Lake Park, Waseca on July 4th. Waseca Community Education - $1,555.
