Mark Hall,
Kasota.
Mark creates original glass pieces using contemporary equipment and
traditional methods of glass working. The fellowship will be used to
participate at the Pilchuck School of Glass, Seattle, WA as a teacher’s
assistant in leaded stained glass and also to take a class in
glassblowing.
Jackie May,
North
Mankato.
Jackie’s water media paintings are developed by interweaving layered
images with areas of textural interest. The work is abstract
expressive, influenced by the Southwest, and often with recognizable
images. The fellowship will be used for supplies, travel and study at
the 10 day Intensive Studies Seminar in Taos, New Mexico.
Rea Mingeva,
Good Thunder.
Rea has spent the last four years painting in acrylics and creating “The
Cancer Series”, inspired by her sister’s cancer treatment. The
elaborate assemblages combine portraits with found objects and
interactive elements. The fellowship will be used for supplies to
continue this series. She has two solo exhibitions scheduled at the
Minnesota West Community College, Worthington, MN November 2002 and the
Ty Stokes Gallery, Atlanta, Georgia, in early 2003.
